wedding in san diego - photos and the play by play

"Excuse me son, have you been drinking?"

Damn I'm behind on blog posts. There is so much stuff I want to share but I just haven't had time. I've seriously got a running list of things I want to post to my blog about our France trip, our San Diego trip, an unconventional wedding, and the condo. I've been delaying the France trip recap because I haven't had time to go through all the photos yet. But I promise it's coming!

Anyway, we were home from France for about 3 days before finding ourselves back at the airport on a flight to San Diego. Drew met us at the airport and was on our flight both ways which was cool. It was a quick trip but action packed.

I hadn't been to San Diego in years and was looking forward to catching up with my buddy Brian between wedding events but ironically he was in the SF Bay Area that weekend.

Friday night - We arrived and met up with my folks at the airport. After checking in at the hotel we had some drinks in La Jolla before dinner. It was a nice chance to catchup since Mom and Dad wanted to know all about the France trip. Dinner included our good friend Sonia, Brent, and Benet.

Saturday morning - Our real estate agent called to tell us we got the condo! After that, we managed to sneak in a quick ferry trip to Coronado to check out Hotel Del before the wedding that afternoon. I like boats and enjoyed being on the water even if it was only a 15 minute ride. Coronado is a cool little island to visit if you've got some time to kill. While the hotel was cool (it's over 100 years old) I think the highlight was the ferry ride.

Saturday afternoon - This was the main event and the highlight of the whole trip, Andy and Cheyanne's wedding. I was excited about this wedding because I knew that everyone had been working hard on it. Plus, both Andy and Cheyanne are artistic, creative types so I knew they'd have some cool stuff in store. I'll post more about this later. The wedding was fabulous and in many ways unconventional.

Sunday - We did a picnic at the Kate Sessions park, which has a great view of San Diego. In the afternoon we met up with Danielle's friend Melissa for coffee and just to catch up. We ate dinner with Alana and Jeremy at The Fish Market. I grew up with Alana living next door and this was the first time I'd met her significant other after many years of them dating. I need to visit friends more! We immediately hit it off and I really enjoyed hanging out with both of them. Jeremy, Drew, and I all seem to have lots in common.

Monday - Not much to report, another plane and and another airport. We were finally home until our next trip to Las Vegas at the end of the month. Great, we can relax! WRONG, time to get started on all the condo closing stuff.

All the photos from San Diego
